BRAZILIAN JIU-JITSU FOR TEENS

The teenage years are an important time for developing confidence, discipline, independence, and physical fitness.

Our Teens program provides ages 13–17 with structured martial arts training designed to challenge them physically and mentally.

Training may incorporate Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, wrestling, striking,

self-defense, and MMA fundamentals depending on the class.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Fundamentals

Learn the core positions, techniques, escapes, submissions, and principles of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu while developing effective grappling skills.

Striking Fundamentals

Build a solid foundation in boxing, kickboxing, footwork, defense, combinations, and proper striking technique in a controlled training environment.

Respect, Teamwork, Discipline & Accountability

Learn the value of respect, sportsmanship, leadership, communication, and supporting teammates while training in a positive and disciplined environment.

Develop consistency, responsibility, work ethic, and the ability to set goals, accept coaching, and take ownership of personal progress.

Confidence Under Pressure

Build the ability to remain calm, think clearly, and make smart decisions in challenging situations while developing confidence in their abilities.

Wrestling & Takedown Skills

Develop strong fundamentals in stance, movement, takedowns, takedown defense, and controlling an opponent safely and effectively.

Coordination & Athletic Ability

Develop balance, agility, reaction time, timing, body control, and movement skills that translate across sports and everyday activities.

Strength & Conditioning

Improve strength, endurance, speed, mobility, and overall fitness through age-appropriate athletic training designed to support performance.

Mental Toughness

Learn how to stay composed, work through challenges, manage discomfort, and keep pushing forward when training gets difficult.

MARCOS “MARQUINHO” COELHO, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Instructor

Marcos “Marquinho” Coelho is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt from Brazil with nearly 19 years of experience in the sport.

One of Philippe Gagnon’s primary training partners, Marquinho has competed extensively in Brazil and has earned multiple podium finishes, including a Professional World Cup championship.

He has taught Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to children and adults since 2014.

His coaching philosophy emphasizes technical development, discipline, respect, and helping each student become a better practitioner.

Outside the academy, Marquinho enjoys spending time with his wife and family.
